To learn about our history, you have to take a journey through time of over a century. Our experience in the agricultural sector dates back to the late 1800s, when grandfather Carlo Berto took over the entire land area in a sharecropping arrangement.

A quick time jump brings us to the end of the ‘60s, when father Lino and his brothers redeemed the entire land, but we have to wait until 1980 to see the birth of our Berto Farm at the behest of Maurizio Berto, backed by the healthy values of his peasant family and an unconditional love for their land, making radicchio the farm’s flagship product.

WHY THE ART OF THE CARRARESI

Our company is located in the countryside of the lower Padua area, more precisely in Due Carrare, a very important place especially in the Middle Ages as the seat of the Carrarese Lordship, which gradually transformed it from a rural village into a center of lordly power, attracting artists and writers, poets, painters, sculptors, doctors and jurists.

We have chosen as our company logo the Da Carrara family crest, represented by a red chariot on a white field, a symbol of justice, temperance, strength and prudence.
